PRO data as part of hospital care

– How to implement and make the most of using PRO data in a hospital setting – based on practice and research

Odense University Hospital (OUH) has gradually come a long way in collecting data from patients about their experience of their health, quality of life, and functional level, also called PRO – Patient Reported Outcomes.

We currently have 30 different PRO initiatives in the clinical departments, where data is used to support the dialogue with the patients or to identify the patients who need treatment at the hospital.

But there are still challenges in disseminating our PRO tools and getting up to scale.

At this workshop, you will see several examples of how we work with introducing PRO in clinical departments at OUH. We then get an overview of what the research shows about the clinical effects of PRO and how to implement PRO questionnaires.

The workshop concludes with a panel discussion on the challenges we see with the spread of PRO in Danish hospitals and what practical solutions are needed to reach our goal.
