Group Manager, Fraunhofer IPA
Dr. Birgit Graf
I am a manager of the Domestic and Personal Robots Group at Fraunhofer IPA and have worked in service robotics for over 20 years.
I received my degree in Computer Science from Stuttgart University in 1999 and completed my PhD on “An Adaptive Guidance System for Robotic Walking Aids” in 2008.
My group’s research activities comprise developing and integrating specific service robot technologies, specifically in perception and mobile manipulation, and the development of complete mobile robot prototypes. For example, I was involved in developing several generations of the robotic home assistant Care-O-bot and numerous other assistive robots supporting persons in need of care and health care workers.
